Cape York Partnerships are frequent users of Fido Skilled Volunteer Search. They originally found out about Fido Skilled Volunteer Search from one of their volunteers. Their response rate is dependant on the role. They have had a number of successes with Fido Skilled Volunteer Search. "Some of our roles are highly skilled and very specific." They have had good response for their IT roles but found it harder to find someone for case management roles.

"You have been very helpful to an organisation that doesn't have a huge budget. Hayley always found you guys very easy to work with. She always had good things to say about the person she dealt with at Fido," says Cape York Partnerships' Renee Law.

Jessie Street National Women's Library has been seeking volunteers through the Fido Helpdesk column in The Sydney Morning Herald since 2001. "Volunteers are the lifeblood of the Library. We have advertised for volunteers to fill a variety of positions including trained librarians, board secretary, treasurer, library coordinators and most recently a website manager and have always had an immediate and excellent response to all advertisements, not only in numbers but also in calibre of the respondents. It has been pleasing to find that those applicants who had not been chosen to fill a particular position have been interested enough in the organisation to become general volunteers.

Most of our volunteers have remained with us for many years. We have found the Fido Helpdesk column so useful we will continue using it to attract volunteers."

Australian Business Volunteers has used Fido numerous times and have had mixed responses saying "Sometimes we don't get any response and other times we have a really huge response to our positions." Despite the mixed response, when asked if they are keen to continue using Fido, they replied "absolutely, it provides us with a huge advertising avenue for our 'hard nut' assignments".

A literacy support organisation said "Thank you for giving us an ad in the SMH on Saturday and Monday.  It has done the trick and we now have 11 volunteers which makes running the next tutor training course viable. Thanks for your assistance. Your ad has reached people that we don't reach through the (local newspaper)."

"We get an immediate response on the Monday the ad appears … It is not about volume of response, but the quality of the candidates and the seriousness of their intent. We got three or four calls on the first occasion, two of whom have since lodged their applications," said an indigenous health organisation regarding recruitment of health professionals.

"… I have had seven inquiries about the Literacy Tutoring Course already. I am really so pleased with the wonderful response. I just thought you would want some feedback. Thanks so much for including us, " said a TAFE college.

Jane, team leader of Lifeline Western Sydney's volunteer services wrote "Just a quick thank you for your help and support in advertising our Lifeline Western Sydney volunteering opportunity in Fido. We always find the exposure in the Fido column in The Sydney Morning Herald very effective in helping us to recruit for our training courses."
